A guy from the bible?

I can't remember it exactly though I'm fairly sure that it's in one of the first three books of the new testament. There was a guy claiming to be the messiah or god; something like that. He apparently had some level of confrontation and was levitating. Peter or Paul, one of the big names, prayed and the guy fell out and broke his leg. As far as I know the guy disappeared from history after that. I'm almost a hundred percent positive I read this. I'm just trying to prove a point.
