Are Tiger's injuries worse that he has told us?

If it's taken this long for Tiger's Achilles and knee to heal (and they're still not 100%), I'm thinking it might be something serious...no? He said doctors have been giving him some kind of "cold water" treatment, but sure hasn't healed the injuries very fast. I'm worried these two injuries will be a lingering issue for the rest of his career.
