I need something for my character to travel with in this story?

I am writing a fantasy story, and in my story, this guy, Nisp, wishes on a shooting star to BE a star. Oh, and he has wings. So anyway, the shooting star changes direction and at the speed of light shoots into his house, but it doesn't explode it, it just makes it glow so brightly like a million lights. But anyway, idk how he is gonna get to space. Would the light make him levitate up or something? o_O Give me your ideas. No cars, trains, trams, planes, buses, bikes, any of that stuff.
